I recently cleaned(deleted the partition) out on my C : drive on my XP computer

it was on an HP pavillion vx74

the reason i did this was because i kept getting the registry error

Windows/system32/config/system error on my startup screen

so i installed a new OS

Which was WINDOWS XP SP2 Home edition OEM

it was the same OS as the OLD ONE but not the same version

OK HERE IS MY PROBLEM

after installing my new OS I found out i CANT INSTALL

MY PRINTER

MY SPEAKERS DONT WORK

THE VOLUME thingy on the taskbar doesnt show up(and there is no sound) !

and my INTERNET BROWSERS are acting wierd!!...

when i scroll down and up it looks like they are blinds !

what is wrong with my CPU?

does it need updates?

  1. Do Not reformat

You did not install the drivers for your printer or your sound card.

click on start > settings > control panel > system > device manager

If there are any devices with a ? or ! or unknown device you will have to go to the link below down load and install the drivers

    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softw...

  2. Reformat.

  3. hp runs a special version of windows and drivers

go to hp.com and get the add-ons for your model

  4. Install Windows XP with Service Pack 2 AFTER FORMATTING the C: drive. Then install all the motherboard drivers i.e. chipset, graphics, audio, LAN, etc.. If you don't have the motherboard CD, then go to http://www.hp.com and download it. Install any additional driver required by your system. Then try installing the printer. It should work.

  5. You need to get hardware drivers for your computer.

They can be obtained from the hp website. Install all the necessary ones and your hardware will start working.

Your printer doesn't work because you have no drivers for it.

Your speakers dont work because you do not have drivers for your sound processor and the volume taskbar will only show if you have a sound processor....at this time your computer knows you dont because it doesn't know how to control it without drivers.

You dont have drivers for your video card or the proper ICC profiles for your computer monitor.....

  6. Have you installed the drivers? The browser problem likely bcoz u haven't installed the graphic driver, no sound because there's no sound driver, etc.

Look in your computer package, if you can't find any CD/DVD with "driver" or "recovery cd" on the label, have a (good/bad) time finding them in the internet. Otherwise just use the CD/DVD.

Btw, i google and it looks like vx74 is your monitor series, not related to other components. So try this program http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/PC_...

(run in your pc, write down all the hardware names there (most important, chipset, graphic, sound card), then google the driver.

  7. Hello,

System error, you can try to re-install your system, and then clean up your registry files
