Question about wireless speed

Hi, me and my sister are using same wireless connection, how come when i try to download something, and the speed on her computer are so slow.

Do you both have the same OS? Both are yours are connected wirelessly but whats the MPS rate?

that may because your laptop or pc using is better than your sister.

or

your wireless adapter are good from her

or

your sister laptop or pc may have to give some maintainent or setup..ok

of course, you are downloading something and she doesn't. You need more bandwidth than her that is why she had a slow connection. The internet is shared but equally. Unless you limit the each speed on the router.

Your problem is one of throughput. Think of the connection like a water hose. The size of the hose limits the maximum amount of water (data) that can pass through over some period of time. Now, with two places where the water can go once it leaves the hose, if you divert more water to one point, the other gets that much less. The same applies to the packets of data coming down the wire. With wireless this is even worse as both machines are on a party line. When one "talks" the other can't do anything and has to wait until the line clears. A router helps in that it intelligently directs the packets down the correct physical wire and even though the other machine still has to wait, it can immediately talk when the line clear because the router lets it do so. Wireless has some built-in time delays since there is no router to intelligently direct traffic, so wireless has lower throughput on average, than a router when each are connected to two identical machines.

even though its wireless and faster.. when you use two computers they use the same connection and obviously if you're running more than one application at a time it would be slower.. its like trying to download 2 songs at the same time on your computer.. if theres just one its decently fast...if you add another. it drastically decreases the speed because its using the same source of internet to download things...........

Most likely she has a different computer, or she has spyware on her computer. Run some scans and see if you can find anything.
