Question about work and Native americans, and the Jay treaty?

how does the jay treaty tie into native canadians being allowed to work in the united states? do I really haveto get a green card or a us passport? thanks!

  1. If you are a native canadian you will need a treaty/status card from Canada to qualify for the US j treaty.  You will not need a green card.  As for a passport, currently you do not require one to travel by land over the US/Canada border.  YOu do require a goverment issued photo id (ie, your treaty card)  as well as proof of citizenship (ie, birth certificate).
