Question about your high school's JV dance or poms team?

How does your JV squad compare to your Varsity Squad? At the end of your competition season - are they talented enough to compete at the state level?

Are they seen as respected "future Varsity members" and are there goals in place to improve technique?

Does your booster club set aside any of its' budget for spirit wear/costumes for your JV?

Does your school have a big sister/little sister program where the varsity members "mentor" the jv girls on monthly basis?

I am a JV booster club parent who with a few other parents feel the time has come to raise the bar for our JV squad - I appreciate your serious responses!

no. but our varsity team isnt good enough for state either.

yeah i go to a really small school so there respected. n we have practice for 2 hrs a day 4 days a week in the summer for anyone tht wants to improve on technique. its not mandatory but a lot of ppl go to it.

no. we have like 30 ppl total on jv and varsity so we jst get money from the booster club for the dance team in general. not specificaly for jv or varsity.

we kinda have a big sis/lil sis program... once a week we have practices together n u go w/ ur lil sis and help them w/ technique n stuff.

well for my school and mostly all around here, the difference from jv and varsity is grade.

jv-9-10th

varsity- 11th -12th.

but why is some 9-10th graders on varsity? well for cheerleaders its mainly because of there tumbling skills. anyone can yell. dance well mainly because height in jumps and flexibility level is high.

idk what pom squad is or is that cheerleaders haha. XD

my dance team has dance outfit, theyre actually at camp this week, they have pompoms, the diff between our dance team and cheerleaders are dance team doesnt yell and arent so stiff. theyre more free lose and they get pompoms haha. :D
