Question abt Home theatre and Xbox 360..?

Hi there,

I have got a xbox 360 ( premium console not the elite one..), and i have a 42" plasma HD tv( Hitachi)... I have only one HDMI input in my tv, so can u suggest what kind of cable i require to connect the Xbox 360 to the tv for HDMI.. currently it is in the ypbr port..

2) i also have a panasonic home theatre ( SA Ht 545) and a digital set top box..with no HDMI input/output in any one of them..

3) How can i configure all of them together to get the best picture and audio experience, without having to change cables all the time..

4) i am not tech savvy so please explain in very simple language and any pictures would be more than welcome..

well the premium does have HDMI

u need to connect an hdmi from the xbox to the tv. then connect an optical toslink cable from the flap on the adapter on the 360 a/v plug to an input on ur home theater.  if the the set top box has coaxial audio or optical audio, use a coaxial cable or optical cable to hook it up to ur home theater.  then use the best video connection (DVI (rectangular), Red,Green, Blue (round); then s video(round with pins);then composite (yellow) video(round); then coaxial video (round threaded connector) ----those are in order from best to worst that u could have) to hook the set top to the tv.

The 360 premium doesn't have HDMI output, so you won't be able to use HDMI with it.  However, the picture quality would be the same with the component cables anyway (some argue better, but I'll stay out of that one).  You can, however, get an optical cable for the sound if you have optical in on your Panasonic system.  (I couldn't find specs for that model number you listed).  If your system supports optical, you need an optical toslink cable.  So, you'd connect your XBox video w/ the component cables, and you'd attach an optical cable from the back of the video cable connector on the xbox to the optical in on your HT box.  Hope this helps!
