Do you believe that our government lies to us about other things, like when they tell us that communism failed in all other countries?

True communism would be a great this, if it worked, but as we have corrupt people in this world, it can never trully work, most definitely all governemts lie, more so now, we are lied to about everything, about Fluoride in our water is good for us, Mercury in vaccines, to wars, they are all lies.  If you don't think your government was capable of 911, then look up and see what happen to USS Liberty,  and if you fret about the wool being pulled over your eyes, then may I advise you to look up a chap called 'Edward L Bernays' may help you understand.

The government has and will continue to lie about many things. Communism, socialism, and democracy are all just as prone to failure when leaders abuse their power and governments seek to take more and more control by any means necessary.

What do you mean?  Be more specific.  Communism has failed because of the corrupt nature of mankind.  Our gov't has not been honest with us; the Iraq war is a perfect example of this.  Insinuating that 9/11 was an inside job is borderline unpatriotic, but to be non-receptive to valid arguments is to be ignorant.  When push comes to shove, the biggest bully on the playground has his way.  Is it a conspiracy? Or is it just how reality plays out?

Communism still flourishes in China and Cuba,

Communist ideals are plausible but in practice an elite, rich and powerful cabal are always at the top of the tree.

The poor become poorer.

Politicians are no less fallible than the rest of us and of course they lie when it is expedient to do so.

One thing politicians have in common is they are all in the mushroom business.

They keep us in the dark and (to put it politely) regularly heap manure on us.
