Question for Adults Diagnosed with ADD/ADHD?

Before you were diagnosed with ADD/ADHD did you feel like a scatterbrain? What finally had you seeking treatment and at what age did you seek treatment?

I'm looking for real people diagnosed by a doctor, Not people just trying to be funny.

  1. I was diagnosed by my doctor when I was 38 years old.  And yes, I did feel scatterbrained.  There are other problems that led to my diagnosis though.  I would start a sentence and leave out important information.  I would be involved in a converstation and then change to another subject. Never could complete algebra because I could not remember all of the steps to complete the problems.  Concentration is hard for me on subjects that do not come easily for me or that is hard for me to understand.  I am disorganized and lose stuff all the time.  I was not looking for treatment but the doctor gave me a test and said that I had classic ADD.
