Question for Altamont Commuter Express train in the bay area?

My friends and I want to go to Great America sometime on the ACE train in Northern California, but we want to know, can you buy tickets on the train or do you have to buy them in advance online? the website really doesnt give an answer.

We plan on getting on the train in Tracy, if that helps.

Here's what the website says:

Tickets are available at most ACE Stations prior to departure for morning westbound trains either from ACE Ticket Offices, or approved ACE Vendors. Tickets are also available online at www.acerail.com 24 hours a day.

At Tracy- On Platform: Weekdays, 20 minutes prior to all departures for the three morning commute trains only

I suggest you buy them online ahead of time.  Tracy apparently has a ticket agent only for the 3 morning commute trains.  Not sure if you're using one of those or not.

Might want to think that one through.  The ACE doesn't run very often and would leave you kind of a short stay at Great America.
