How hard is it to emigrate once you once you are over 30?

I'm 28 now and once i have finished my postgraduate work i want to emigrate. It has been plan of mine for some many years, and i have missed two opportunities in past to go to Oz. Sorting my life out was more important first.

So does age make it harder for to get into countries?

Is there any of you that have done it over the age of 30?

And how easy is the process if you have?

  1. if it helps, my sister emigrated to New Zealand when she was 29, 2 years ago.  Provided you've got some kind of skill behind you to get a job and you're solvent, you should be absolutely fine - she got a lifelong visa with no problem at all.  I think Oz is actively recruiting Brits to go over so i can't imagine you'd have too much trouble.  good luck with your new life!

  4. I was an ex pat for years and I loved every minute of being abroad and cried buckets when I had to come back.  Age doesnt make any difference in some countries though I suppose they would want to know where you are going to get money to live from and whether you hold money in banks.  The process for me was easy as my husband was a citizen of the country.
