Hello:)

I have now got 2 computers,

PC1 is my existing computer which i mainly use for games and has been beefed up with all the gear for pc gaming

PC2 is my office computer (i sold my business and brought it home) i use this PC for office work, it has no gaming ad-ons and is pretty gutless in that department but is the only one with internet connection (yep i'm using it now)

SO can i combine the two to make a MEGA computer?

well the main reason i want to do that for is so i can log in and upgrade all my games (patches) and do web battles.

about the patches, is there anyway to download the patch to this PC and transfer it to my games PC? ( like with a usb flash drive)

Thanks in advance KB:)

  1. with certain operating systems, it is posisble to cluster computers, so that they spread the load, similar to the way that multicore processors work, this technique has been around for ages, as a way of making super computers for web servers, but with windows, the best you can do to this effect is set up a local area network and a file share on the office pc, then download stuff to the folder, and then youll be able to copy it across the network

  2. No, the operating system you are using does not have the ability to do that, and not many can, the ones that can, wont run any of your application or games anyway.

  3. no you cant

  4. The only physical way to make them into one computer would be to dissemble the two PCS and then rebuild one PC using the components from both PCs.

With regards to sharing the data between the two computers, you could network them both together and then share data across the network

  5. if the two PC with  Microsoft operating systems,so it is easy.as you will buy network cable called crossover, then plug it into Ether Card .and you will transfer files through network drives,as they will be at the same network group.and PC1 will be member of it.and you will share folders on it,and the same for PC2.then from my network places you will see shared drives .

  6. In fact, if you create a network between the computers, if you are using a cable modem on PC2 you can share internet access with PC1.

You can also by a router, which is a piece of equipment that, if connected properly, can intake data from several sources (in your case, your 2 computers and internet source) and then distribute data between them.

Which means that not only can you share data between your 2 computers, but you can have internet access on both of them aswell.

So the answer is no, but you can patch your games =]
