Question for Geography, help?!?

Melanie is flying from Washington D.C., to Seattle. Her flight leaves at 10 A.M. When her plane lands, the pilot announces that it is 2 P.M. in Seattle. How long did her flight take? Explain your answer. PLEASE HELP! I do not understand it.

i'm not positive but.... i think 7 hours. Because the time change. The time zones are different. So if its 2 in seattle then its 5 in D.C so therefor from 10-5 its 7 hours.
