My parents' anniversary is in about a week, and my dad was trying to figure out a good place to take my mom. What they are looking for is a "one day vacation." Does anyone know somewhere they could go besides the aquarium, the High museum, the coke factory, or the airport (haha sorry this ones a joke). Thank you.

  1. I was going to suggest Marietta Sq & Glover Park also. It has good shopping (not just antiques), restaurants and theaters.

  2. They could go see a show at the Fox theater, eat at Daily's (upstairs).  They could go to Atlantic Station to eat as well. There are so many things to do. Hope this helps...

  3. Have them go to Chateau Elan in Braselton GA.  They will love it.  I stayed there with my wife for a weekend and had a wonderful and memorable time.

  4. westin hotel is very romantic. its in downtown. they could spend a night there and then go to a nice dinner. thats where my parents spent their honeymoon

  5. the georgian terrace hotel for dinner and a night cap i guess. this is  a four star hotel and it's really beautiful

  6. They could go to Spa Sydell for the day.  Maybe go to Whitesburg, GA (out near Carrollton) they have a place called the Historic Banning Park Lodge with cute cabins and they also have hiking trails and zipline canopy tours.   They can have a nice dinner at the Sundail at the Westin Hotel downtown.

  7. Have you heard of Chateau Elan? It's a nice place up north that has a winery and a nice hotel. It's a great place for a getaway. Quiet and up in the mountains. It's nice romantic getaway. They have a website you can check out. chateauelan.com (I think.) Golfing, wine, spa, great food, lots of choices. I hope they enjoy their anniversary.

  8. Stone Mountain would be a fun place to go if they want to be outdoors.

Atlanta has a great botanical garden, which could create a romantic setting and they could follow it with dinner at Canoe which has great food and a beautiful outdoor view.

Another fun place to go would be the Marietta square, especially if your parents are into Antiques.  There are great restaurants and great shops!
