hi sorry to bother you but ur answer to my question . . .about my colt that bites and kicks. When you say act like im going to kill him what do you mean. What sort of things like yell, stomp around jump up and down, what sort of things can i do without actually hurting him?

  1. i'm not horseybill, but i've heard that term before and usually it just means say mean things firmly like no, stop, spank him, stuff like that.


  2. It usually means act serious. They pick up on that.

    If you say 'Hey, don't do that.' in a normal voice, they won't get anything from it. If you say the same thing in an ANGRY voice that is clear and very firm while looking them hard in the eye, like you will kill him if he doesn't listen to you, they will pick up on that a lot more and realize what they are doing is bad. Do it right after they do it..within a second, or else they don't know why you are punishing/yelling at them.

  3. Growl act like a predator throw your arms up and act threatening. You do this just for 3 seconds he will back off. Immediately stop the scary tactic when he does and act normal. I got this tip from John Lyons and it works better than anything I've ever done. I don't do anything else anymore. It is just like a mare pinning her ears and shaking her head when another horse approaches her when she's eating hay. She does this and when the other horse retreats, she goes back to eating hay. She is telling the other horse, "if you stay away I won't hurt you.
