My wife is going with all the kids, some of her friends are going to help her with them. Without me I feel they could be to much for her to handle. 3 boys and 2 girls. It lasts all weekend 3 days she would be gone. I am use to her always being home. I would like to go with her.

But I am not a witness. My parents have also been talking about wanting to go. So is this for the public anyone who wants to go?

  1. All interested persons are more than welcome to attend.

I am sure your wife will be more than happy if you go.

You can benefit from the program, and with you there to help with the children, she can benefit also!

  2. Good for you guy! :) go and have fun and bring your bible so you can make sure what you are learning is the truth.

  3. No. I went to conventions and assemblies for many years before I became one of Jehovah's Witnesses.

It would be great if you could attend the convention with your wife. I'm sure she would want you to accompany her. Let it be a family affair.

One word of caution. Not only would Satan not want you to go, but neither would anti- and ex-witnesses. They will do whatever they can to discourage you. Don't let them.

  4. Oh I'm so glad you want to go. The assembly is for anyone who wants to assist. Is such a wonderful experience. Why didn't you tell your wife you wanted to go. Trust me she would of felt so happy is you went with her. Tell her next time. Oh you don't know how happy it makes me feel that you want to go too. And I know that it will make your wife so happy too!!

  5. ANY mother with five kids really appreciates the father's help. And the kids will love you coming along.

It is great that your parents want to come. The more the merrier. We are glad to have anyone come and listen and enjoy the fine program.

Just sit back and enjoy. If kids or other circumstances make it difficult or impossible to check all the scriptures on the spot, feel free to take paper and pencil and write them down to read later.

  6. (with tears in my eyes) Oh, how I wish this was my husband. I would be thrilled!

  7. My daughter was baptized last year and this year her husband went to our convention this year

I am still proud of the fact that he came with us.

Hon, if your wife and kids knew that you and your family wanted to go to the convention with her, it would surly make them all proud.

  8. Absolutely not for JW's only. Its for anyone and everyone who is interested in learning more about the Bible and how to apply its principles in their everyday lives.

    A'gape =)

  9. Yes, anyone can attend.

  10. Your wife would be so happy if you would go.  Everyone is welcome.  You would not embarrass her.

  11. Everyone is welcome, and I assure you she will be beyond happy if you told her you wanted to go. I can not tell you how happy that will make her!!! It makes me happy, and I don't know you. Don't wait, tell her NOW that you want to go!!!

  12. The assembly's that we celebrate are for anyone and for everyone, not just for J.W.'s  If it makes you feel more comfortable, nobody is going to ask you who are you? and What are you doing there? You and your family just take a sit anywhere you want to. And all you are going to see is smiles and friendly people around you. I already attended and the information that we received from the different topics was really magnificent and the Drama was beautiful. The theme of the assembly tells it all "Being Guided By The Holy Spirit" May Jehovah bless you and your family.

  13. Please do research on this group before you let your wife become affiliated with them.

I was raised as a witness and it is becoming more and more apparent that they are a (misled, yet sincere) dangerous group.  They subtly tear families apart and are VERY controlling.

edit:  I speak from PURE experience on this matter.  conundrum said I gave a snide remark...but inferring that I do not understand bible verses is NOT a snide remark? Hypocrisy is alive and well.  God judges us all and I pray for them daily!

  14. Candice, My sentiments exactly.

Louis... It looks as if my Brothers & Sisters have already given you some great answers.

I just want to add that I too, think it is great that you want to go and you are certainly welcome to attend, as is anyone. That your parents are thinking of going is icing on the cake. What wonderful support you would be to your wife as you and your family attend the DC together. Jehovah will bless your family as we can be assured that learning with your wife and children is so pleasing to Him.

Take a pen & paper so you can take notes. The spiritual food is a wonderful feast.

    Agape

  15. What?! are you kidding me? Trust me on this one, she will be THRILLED if you go and even more if your parents go :) And absolutely EVERYONE is welcomed and invited to go to assemblies. No exceptions :)

  16. It is for anyone interested.  If you want to go with her and wish to remain in your hotel room all 3 days, you are welcome.  If you wish to go 2 days and spend one in the room, you are welcome...of if you want to go one day or part of one day.

You are welcome and free to observe.  The press is welcome, public is welcome...anyone who wants is welcome and NO collection plates are passed!!!!!

The press often goes and gives honest reports.  Ex-JWs and opposers (haters) don't.

    Please feel free to attend!

Best wishes to you and your family and may your lives and relationships and knowledge improve!!!

    Love and hugs,

    Debbie in Oklahoma

  17. everyone is welcome to go to the Assembly

  18. As was already brought out, meetings, conventions, etc., are open to the public.  Tell your wife, she will be thrilled to have you go along with her.

  19. i feel for you, and fear for you

6 false prophecvies about the end of the world, thast would make most organisations flase prophets, for some strange reason the JW's don't think it applies to them

as the man of the house, you can take action,

please be aware, that the JW's will not hesitate in telling you it's better for your family members to die, than have a blood transfusion to save their lives

they claim it's a mater of conscience, but this is only s othey dont get sued

they know full well those that too use their intellignece and have a blood transfusion will be excommunicated

    thanks

    Peace in Christ

  20. Sure- go ahead. Bring your own Bible as well that way you will be able to convince yourself as to what you hearing is the truth.

Dont be swayed by snide remarks from " Sillygirl" who probably does not understand Biblical verses like (Matt 10:36) & (Matthew 23:13)

** No Sillygirl- if you were raised in the Truth you would have remained in the truth. Many who leave, leave because they want to do things contrary to God's law. Make all the excuses you want. By the way you used the word " Dangerous" that statement of yours reminds me of the account of those before the sanhedrin who were told  : “We positively ordered You not to keep teaching upon the basis of this name, and yet, look! You have filled Jerusalem with Your teaching, and You are determined to bring the blood of this man upon us.” ( Acts 5:28)

You are trying to silence people from knowing about  Jehovah & Jesus , it is no wonder that in the 1st Century Jesus asked his disciples " You do not want to go away also do you?".. their reply " “Lord, whom shall we go away to? You have sayings of everlasting life; and we have believed and come to know that you are the Holy One of God.” (John 6:68, 69)

The problem we have with people who were witnesses at one time is that they dont GO AWAY they want to bad mouth those who have stayed close to the truth- in essence you make yourself an Apostate. And YES you do not understand Scripture.

  21. No they are open to the public. You would be more than welcome.

  22. 5 Kids!!!!  I am surprised you can survive at home, much less on the road!

Most definitely GO WITH HER.  All meetings of JWs are open to the public especially assemblies.  Sometimes the greatest witness a JW can give is by just behaving normally without saying a word to you.

It is one thing to talk about the Bible's message for humanity.  It is quite another to really live it.  Go and watch if some how you can take your eyes off the kids.

With that many, do chains and locks help?  I once saw a toddler in a sort of harness with a dog leash (the retractable kind that lets out about 25 feet) attached.  Seemed like a perfect idea.  Do you get the idea I do not have kids?

Look around.  Notice families sitting together.  Kids learn from their parents.  What they do, not always what they say.  People of all races and backgrounds happily meeting as old family members.  No smoking, cursing or fighting.  No need for Police in any way.  The cleanliness of the place.  Litter by only shear accident if at all.  The convention site custodial staff all smiles.  They know from previous experience they will not have as much to do after we leave.

Listen to what is said from the stage.  It is not about politics or procedures.  It is about how the Bible can give us great benefit if we apply it in our lives.  With this assembly especially, the emphasis will be on kids and how the Bible effects them in this terrible world we all must live in.  How they can cope with problems they face.  Notice too how many times all in attendance are referred to their Bibles.  To turn and read for themselves the truth of matters.

All this will be completely different from anything you have experienced before.  (And free.  No collections are ever taken.)  By all means go with them.  Both your wife and each of your many kids will be delighted if you do.

  23. All are Welcome, to come and join in.

We are open to the public, we are the public.

You will make your wife so very happy.

    In more than 1 way.

And it'll benefit the children as well.

RUN!, and tell her you want to and are going... ;~)

    Enjoy.

May Jehovah bless your efforts and your family.

  24. Yes, the assembly is free to everyone. The law does not prohibit it, and neither do they. If you cause a problem, though, they will not hesitate to call the authorities. Any person can come. You will have to pay for your own things though, they do not pay anything for you. Advice, bring some decent clothes if you are going with her. Also, if she is a witness, why is she with you? Did she become a witness after she was with you? Either way, if you don't want to waste her time, give her this link, it might open her eyes.

go to google - type in "jehovah witnesses exposed" and go to the advanced search tab, select "video" and see the 59minute video. It is very true, made by Jeremiah Films to show them as false prophets.
