If your son was'nt a fan of your favorite team would you be upset? My dad was a Cowboys fan, so am I, I hope my 2 sons will be Dallas fans too, but their Grandpa cheers for Washington, and is trying to buy them Redskin gear. I wont allow it! So would you be upset if your son cheered for a different team?

  1. yea, but id let them do wat they want

  2. Your childrens Grandpa sounds like a very smart man, unlike their father and paternal grandfather. A real man would want their children to be happy and not care which team they rooted for.

  3. See, maybe this is because where I'm from, but everyone who said "No, I think I'd be ok with it" blows my mind. I get it, you want kids to have their own choices, and etc etc. But I mean, that's part of the fun of sports at the same time. My dad and I can prattle on incessantly about the Steelers and its great, even if nothing else is being accomplished. I mean, if I was somehow a Browns fan (thank god I'm not) it just seems like I would never see eye to eye with my dad on anything. Common sports teams really seem like they unify my whole family.

In fact, I can't think of anyone in my extended family (there's almost 50 of us) who aren't Steelers fans. It would just be weird if they weren't. But this is what makes the Pittsburgh area awesome. It really is something that I can't explain without going into fanboy garbage like "The Stillers are the best!" I grew up watching them, my dad grew up watching them, so did my mom, and my sisters. My kids will grow up watching them, so will all of my sisters' kids. It almost seems like a foreign idea for me that I could even potentially hear "Dad, I want a Brady Quinn jersey, a Cleveland one, not Notre Dame." I think my heart would quite literally break at that point in time.

  4. Well I wouldn't be pissed, but I'd def. give em c**p in a joking manner when my team played his or whatever. Just like harmless stuff I give to my guy for being a Pats fan lol.

  5. Jeez...Chill out...I would just be glad they're football fans in general.  They could be ballet fans, you know...

  6. No, my son is a Patriots fan and i am a Giants and Bucs fan, 2 each his own

  7. not nfl, but same difference

My oldest son my daughter and myself are huge Texas Longhorn fans.

My middle son is a huge OU fan.....

Can't get any worse than that...

    Where did I go wrong?

  8. sports creates rivalrys. if my kid wanted to root for the cowgirls, i'd let him. go skins!!!

  9. Nah.. thats all part of sports.

It will acutally make for some fun, heated games with the family.

  10. Of coarse not, its not that serious.  As much as I live for football, it IS JUST A GAME, I think some people take their fanhood a little too serious.

  11. Let them cheer for who they want, but if their team ever beats your team then you ground their asses and take away their allowances.

  12. I never cared for the Colts when they was in Baltimore much but liked afew players here and there so accepted gifts fro family members so I see no harm in that.

  13. My son loves to tell me he's a fan of....a team from Pitt.

He watches my eyes blaze red, my jaw clench, my forehead throb, my limbs start to quiver. Then he caves and says "just kidding, dad, I hate them too"

You have every right to be upset if their grandpa is trying to buy them Skins gear. That is not acceptable.

  14. Nope.  That's really controlling.  Let the kid decide which team he likes.  Plus Washington sucks anyways, so that will probably lead a child to go towards their Dad's likes and also a bit of fair weather choosing.  So, Dallas will come around at some point in time.

  15. well me being a dallas fan as well that has also been passed down for generations i don't really care as long as it is not a team from the NFC East

  16. No.  I hope my children have minds of their own and can make decisions on their own.

  17. no
