  1. NO, HE CHOSE A CONSERVATIVE, GUN PACKING, PRO LIFE, SUPER HOT, HOCKEY MOM

    DEMS BE SCARRED VERY SCARRED

  2. As a conservative white man....

I think she is an AWESOME choice.  Hats off to her.  She's up for the job.

  3. I was hoping for Romney- but I am thrilled with Palin!  McCains smartest move yet.  Bye Bye Bama!

  4. yes. I would have been fine with Romney, Pawlenty, Powell, Condelezza, or Huckabee, but a housewife type of woman with little experience from Alaska?

  5. Not at all.  I think Senator McCain made a very wise choice.

She has as much elected office experience as Senator Obama.  She has had to do her own dealings with foreign nations such as Russia and Canada over issues such as trade, fishing rights, oil exploration, and transportation.  As an executive, she has had to make decisions Senators never have to.

    No.  I'm very impressed.

  6. to the user name = SARAH PALIN ROCKS!!!!

u are totally igonorant and racist!  thanks to u, i now know all the community guidliness on YAHOO Q&A..  and it feels sooooo good to report an idi*t!!

  7. palin has no experience

    ha  !  ha !

Now Obama has way more experience then her.

mcCain is messing up the party

  8. I haven't heard any Republicans that are dissappointed, just Democrates dissing her which is to be expected.

  9. I think it's a good choice.  It shows he is a maverick...he chose a VP from a state that is already in his column...so no playing the electoral college there.  He also wisely waited until after Obama made his choice and played to Obama's weakness.  Obama is a curio .....this choice counters the curiosity voters.

  10. I don't know enough about her. We just got TV channels today and are out of the country, but my husband is watching the news as we speak. Just keep in mind everyone, news is just news, what is exciting different, or striking. No one is going to talk about Palin's good points are they? We will have to find better sources.

  11. Not a Republican, but will be voting for one this fall. I think it is a great choice. It reaches out to many demographics that want to vote for McCain but are hesitant. These are woman, conservatives, younger conservatives, pro-lifers, people unsure about his age, and others as well. Governor Palin is a very smart, compassionate woman who can handle her sh*t as good as anyone, after all, she is a lifetime member of the NRA.

She is lacking in terms of national recognition and experience in Washington politics, but I think this is one of the reasons McCain picked her. He was obviously trying to go outside the beltway and someone who is not already in bed with D.C. special interest as the VP nominee from the other party. He wanted someone who brings an image of integrity and honesty, while holding reform of politics in the forefront.

She is a very attractive candidate on many levels, she also brings something the McCain camp was lacking, youthful enthusiasm. The maverick chose another maverick to serve as his running mate. Excellent choice.

  12. HA HA!

Of the top three things Republican's hate most, 1. f**s, 2. Democrats, and 3. Women, McCain not only picked their third worst nightmare, he picked a nightmare that has been mayor of a town of less than 10,000 people.

I can't wait for the Vice Presidential debates. The Republican's will accuse Biden of bullying her, but if you're running for Vice President you should be bully proof.

  13. No, I was just telling my husband last night I wish McCain would pick her, but I never thought he would. I am so excited. She is a strong woman who has a very good reputation of not sitting down and taking it when she sees the government doing things it shouldn't.

    Smart Pick.

  14. disappointed????

    ARE YOU KIDDING?

I love how a mom with a baby can still be a leader.  Surely as a pregnant woman you dont want to further the notion that a mother is incapable of leading and working!  This is the 21st century.

    I LOVE THIS PICK!!!

The only real disappointment is with the dems who are upset that their chances of winning just got much slimmer!

  15. she was an excellent choice - this nomination has single handedly made me re-evaluate mccain.

  16. His VP choice makes me laugh.

    Obama/Biden '08

  17. Love it. John McCain stood at attention and saluted America's working class with his choice.

  18. I have NEVER been excited about a VP pick, until now.

Team McCain Palin is truly a dream ticket for the GOP.

Who has more experience? Obama or Palin?  Palin.

Who will bring change to washington Dc? Biden or Palin?  Palin.

Great pick.  Talk about stealing Obama's thunder from yesterday.

  19. first V.P.I.L.F.

  20. Nope, quite happy

McCain picked someone not tied to BUSH and congress for the past 8 years.

Someone who has foughtcorruption and special interest groups

Someone who has fought big oil

Someone with a record of working across political lines.

The fact she hunts, fishes, an ex union memeber is a bonus.

Just like that fact she is a female.

About time there was real change in Washington

  21. A. She's a Governor, not a Senator.

    B. She has Executive experience.

    C. She has the highest approval rating of any Governor in history.

    D. She sold the states jet in favor of taking commercial flights in order to serve the people rather than her need to be flown around "in style".

    E. She is young and has very little to criticize

    F. She is not a D.C. insider

    G. She is a maverick

    H. She could hold her own on the Basketball court with Obama.

aj: you put it so perfectly I almost cried reading your answer. It's about time the Re publican's stepped up and delivered.

Lisa baby: Palin rocks didn't break one single guideline as I read it. It was harsh but be careful reporting falsely can cost YOU.

  22. I'm only slightly disappointed just because I thought Romney would be better for the economy, but Palin is very fiscally responsible, and she gets things done. I think she'll do a good job.

  23. I would have liked Romney.  But of all the choices he had this was also a good one.  A governor brings executive experience to the table.

  24. No, not disappointed. But I am pretty surprised. I am centrist leaning right, by the way. It sure stole Obama's thunder. That it did.

  25. Not at all! And its REPUBLICANS. There is no "'" because the respublicans are not posessing anything.

  26. I think it's an interesting choice and it certainly fooled the press. McCain is no dummy and although this is a risk I think it may be a great strategical move.

  27. I'm disappointed in McCain... period! I'm highly upset because he doesn't want to continue Arts programs in school. That's going to put a lot of people like myself out of a job! Boo McCain!

  28. Not at all.  I am surprised he chose her, but I think he picked the right person.

  29. I think that she was a great choice.  However, they have both canceled out each others personal attacks.  Obama can no longer attack McCain for his age and McCain can no longer attack Obama for not having enough experience.

Although I personally think that being a governor gives her a little more experience with the fact that she has held executive office where he hasn't.

Obama's camp actually talked down about her age and the fact that she is a mom and should be at home taking care of her kids.  Not good considering he is only 2 years older and running for a higher office.

  30. Not disappointed at all...in fact, I think McCain hit a home run with his choice.

One more thing...did you notice that unlike the Democrats chanting "O BAMA"...the Republicans this morning were chanting "U S A" and singing Happy Birthday to their choice for president.  What a startling contrast.

  31. Completely satisfied!  A great woman, intelligence, and has executive experience where Obama has zilch...
