My mother is opening a business, and I am in school getting my degree in accounting. She wants me to do her bookkeeping and etc and I was wondering if you need to have your CPA to do this? Or do you need any licensing to do this? I will have my associates degree in 2 weeks. Thanks for the help!

  1. No, just need the experience and know-how.

  2. no degree or certification or licensing required to do bookeeping!

  3. The previous posters are correct that you do not require liscensing, however, make sure you're familiar with the software being used (if you're using software). That'll be the real trick even if you have your debits and credits down.

  4. Do you need to prepare financial statements?Such as balance sheet, income statement or cash flow. Here is a software to do it, it can generate general journal and general ledger accounts reports.Very easy to use and you can custom accounting ledger.

    It's for free within 45-days.

  5. You don't have to have anything...except maybe a brain, but make sure you know what you are doing or it will cost your mom more
