This was a comment made by 'Ol Doc'. Is this true? I thought Jesus was God, or at least the son of God.

"It was, in fact, Jesus that said he(Jesus) WASN'T the son of god, god or even his great nephew...Even he himself said that he was just a man, there to teach the word of god. Like any Rabbi in his time."

  1. This question sure cuts to heart of the matter.  I am not a "Cradle Christian."  I came to Jesus by a long road of research into other religions and through meditation.  Through the Holy Spirit, I have come to know that Jesus was fully human and fully God while on earth and a perfect example for us to follow.  Jesus is now fully God as part of our Holy Trinity.  Have faith in this truth and the light of Jesus will grow in you.

  2. Sometimes Jesus claimed divinity, and sometimes he denied it.

It doesn't make sense, but what did you expect? It is a religion after all, and only requires faith.

  3. That is not a Christian belief. Muslims, i do know, believe that Jesus said he was not the son of God.

  4. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was with God in the beginning.

3Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4In him was life, and that life was the light of men. 5The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood[a] it.

6There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John. 7He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all men might believe. 8He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. 9The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world.[b]

10He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—"  John 1:1-12

  5. Your facts are wrong. Jesus said that He and the Father are one. Just read the whole Bible and you will see that Jesus is God.

  6. in the book of John, Jesus said "I and God are one".

    that quote is incorrect.

  7. Jesus claimed divinity in several places in the Bible.

Matthew 12:28; parallel in Luke 11:20. "If I cast out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.

Matthew 28:18; similar quotes in Luke 24:25, 46. In this post-resurrection address, Jesus says that all power in heaven and on earth has been given to Him - in short, power that only God has.

Matthew 26:64; parallel in Mark 14:61-4. The high priest asks Jesus directly if He is the Christ, and Jesus answers in the affirmative.

Matthew 16:16-7. Peter identifies Jesus as the Christ. Jesus does not rebuke Peter, but proclaims him blessed for having had the information revealed to him.

Mark 14.27 Here, Jesus applies a messianic passage, Zechariah 13:7, to himself.

Matthew 9:2; parallels in Mark 2:5, Luke 5:20 and 7:48. Jesus tells people that "their sins are forgiven."

Forgiveness requires the RIGHT to forgive.

  8. Where in the bible does it say that? Jesus is the son of God but he is also God Himself. Have you ever heard of the Holy Trinity.  It's basically has to to with, God the father, God the son, and God the holy spirit. In the bible, look up Mathew 15:60-62(where Jesus Is put on trial in front of Caiaphas, the high priest and other elders)  which say's: "Then the highest priest stood before them and asked Jesus, "Are you not going to answer? What is the testimony that these men are bringing against you?" 61 But Jesus remained silent and gave no answer. And again, the high priest asked him, " Are you the Christ, son of the blessed one?" 62:I AM," said Jesus. " And you will see the son of man sitting on the right hand of the mighty oneand coming on the clouds of heaven. ;) Hoped I helped!

  9. No, he's wrong. That's not what Jesus said.

  10. Just because this man said it, would you believe it?

  11. John 10:36-39-- Do YOU say to me whom the Father sanctified and dispatched into the world, ‘You blaspheme,’ because I said, I am God’s Son?  If I am not doing the works of my Father, do not believe me.  But if I am doing them, even though YOU do not believe me, believe the works, in order that YOU may come to know and may continue knowing that the Father is in union with me and I am in union with the Father.”  Therefore they tried again to seize him; but he got out of their reach.

Notice in verse 36 they were saying he blaspemed because "I said, I am God's son."  Yes Jesus said he was God's son.

John 14:28 says, "YOU heard that I said to YOU, I am going away and I am coming [back] to YOU. If YOU loved me, YOU would rejoice that I am going my way to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am."

Not God and not equal to God because God is greater than he.

  12. Read the gospel of John, especially the first three chapters.

Think about it. Only by Jesus can we be saved. Satan wants to pull as many people away from God as possible, so he )Satan) will do all he can to blind people from knowing who Jesus is and how important He is.

But, the best source to go to, is God Himself. Pray and ask Him to show you what is the truth. He isn't going to be angry with you for not being sure, and He'll be more than happy and able to give you the right answers.

    God bless.

  13. read your bible look at john.that's why jesus got killed for saying he is GOD.

  14. whaaaaat. ahaha. I've read most on Jesus's life and I NEVER read that part. Jesus did say "If you believe in me, you also believe in the Father [in heaven]. So it's pretty much the same thing.

  15. Jesus was just a human like (well I presume) you or me.

He developed his magical abillitys and used them for the good of all those around him.

It would help if alot of the people who profess to follow his example would do the same insted of reading out of a book and taking it as their truth.

    Oh and everyone is god!

  16. Jesus was all man,but he also was all God at the same time. This is what made him divine. The scripture says that Jesus was God wrapped in flesh. Jesus also said That any man that has seen me has seen the Father. As a matter of fact John1:1 states,In the beginning was the Word.He was with God,and He was God.Although Jesus took it upon himself full humanity, and lived as a man,he never ceased to be the eternal God who has always existed.the Creator and Sustainer of all things, and the source of eternal life. John1:14 says"the Word became human and lived here among us on earth."

  17. I think that's silly.  If Jesus was just like any rabbi of his time, he wouldn't have caused such a stir.  He would not have been crucified, and he would not have left a messianic movement in his wake.
