What kinds of jobs did you do? How was the pay? Does it help if you have a degree? I am 27 with a bachelors degree - just want to know what kind of work I will likely be doing and the $ I will make. Thanks!

  1. I have been working here in sydney since i finish High School

the best thing check on the website www.immi.gov.au

and you can view everything in it.

as i know holiday visa only allow 20 hours perweek.

    Good Luck!

  2. The "young persons working visa" or "working holiday visa" is designed to allow "young people" to have a long holiday in Australia and to support themselves by working whilst they are here. One of the provisions of the visa is that no total period of employment with any one employer may be for longer than 3 months. Ignore the totally erroneous comment from Bobbie above about the 20 hrs maximum per week.

Thus, if you think that having a bachelors degree is going to be of any particular use when looking for a job with a maximum span of 3 months, you need to think again.

The type of job that you will get will be straightforward holiday type employment - bar work, light labouring, maybe a spot of fill-in office work etc. Its not a career building move, but that is why these visas exist.

Expect to get $15-$20 per hour.
