Doesn't it bother you how media classifys mixed people with black people even though they are just as much black as they are the other race, such as halle berry barack obama vanessa willams etc...or when you turn on tv shows and you see a black family with one or two mixed kids ,why can't mixed people just be mixed and that's it??I don't know if it's just me or not but how do you feel when you hear a mixed person identifying themselves as black or somthing else just because of the way they look

Well, I'm am biracial my self-my mom is white and my dad is black. My dad has a very dark skin tone. Now, I'm like a brown shade (I'm about the same complexion as President Obama) but I have thin lips, a small nose, and straight dark brown hair. Some people would call me black, some people would call me Native American, and (even Latino people) thinks I'm Latino. But lots of biracial people consider themselves black. To each his own on that, but I'm not ashamed of my Danish and South African heritage. So I proudly call myself biracial.

Personally i don't care what mixed people call themselveor identify as, by why does this bother you and why aren't you asking that of other non-black mixed biracials. To me it is based on how you are raised and how you are treated in society, Barack obama was raised by his white side but treated as a black man and experienced the struggles of a black man, so that was what he chose to identify as, his wife and children are black, a black family, get over it. For example back in my high school days I had two female biracial friends. one had a white mom/black dad and the other a black mom/white dad, and both lean towards their black side, and identified more with that side. The one with a white mom tend to call herself black biracial and the moe with a black mom called herself black due to their expereinces because both didn't have good experiences with their white sides of their family, and were treated as blacks, and so thats what they identifed as, that both only went out with black men. in the end of the day people chose what they want to identify as due to their experiences, it is their life not yours. This is the saem nonsence people like you did when Barack obama didn't identify as biracial but a black african american men, get over it. If you are looking for a biracial person to look up to that calls themselves mixed or thinks like you why don't you try the tiger woods types.
