Question for boxers only?

now im 11 and thinking of getting into boxing. now when i use my pucnching bag i tend to get bored, what can i do to stall the time. also how ,uch should i be staying on the punching bag, i use it about 15 minutes. please help.

  1. go to a boxing gym. they will have plenty for you to do and you won't get bored.

    try this for a workout...

    3 rounds of 3 minutes of jump-rope with a half a minute rest in between rounds

    then do same with shadow boxing

    then do this...

    3 minute rounds w/ a 1 minute break in between each one

    1.jab

    2.cross

    3.jab, cross

    4.jab, cross, jab

    5.left hook

    6.right hook

    7.jab, cross, hook


  2. First of all you can't train boxing just by using the punchingbag. You first have to learn the exact movemet for the punches before you can train them on a punchingbag. When you are working the bag use a stopwatch to set up your training in 2 or 3 minute rounds with one minute rest in between. Stick to this time pattern so that you get the feeling of how long a round is and how you can pace your energy. Each round you should train a certain combination of punches first standing later in movement (forward backward or round the bag in each direction). Remember always to cover up properly. Six rounds are enough for a beginner. You should warm up before training (rope skipping ist the usual method) and you shold stretch your muscles after training.

    The best method against the boredom ist to join a boxing club. If the boredom continues, you should think about wether it is the right sport for you.

  3. iPlay some music you like and it will pass the time. Fifteen minutes is long enough for now. Later, when your older you can progress.

    Remember, most fighter do not do well. They ger hurt and injured. Try for the golden gloves and if you can't win there, do something else.

    Fighting is not a good career. Go to college and be a coach if you like sports.
