My son's school is celebrating their 50 year anniversary and each grade was assigned a certain year to decorate their classroom like. He got the 80's. I am a child of the 80's but can't think of how to turn some of those trends into classroom decorations. Any ideas?

  5. Bright neon colors!

  6. What grade? If it's elementary, might I suggest the teenage mutant ninja turtles, my little pony, strawberry shortcake, GI Joe? Middle school would have to be Madonna, Roxette, Cory Feldman/Haim. I have no idea about high school in the 80's.

  9. Make tie dye t-shirts and cut them up making them look like rags.  Put on Micheal Jackson's "Thriller". Maybe that will help. Good luck.

  10. Use one of those gigantic brick cell phones in place of the regular phone...

  11. Money, cassettes, vcr's, jelly shoes/bracelets, rubix cubes, atari. People were obsessed with the stock market a bit more back then (think of the movie, I think it was called "Greed" with Charlie Sheen and Michael Douglas). That was what the 80's was all about.

  12. MTV has got to be in there somewhere--I want my MTV.

  13. Black and Neon colors, and maybe some cheesey 80's toys like rubiks cubes, and slinky's.

  14. Bright neon colors for decorations!  Bright streamers, paper plates, etc.
