As an atheist, do I have god with me, or am I void of him in my life?

So does that mean that god is there to help guide me and get me through problems even though I wish in no way for this to happen nor would I recognize it as such?

  1. First of all, I'm not sure why you care if you don't believe in God or gods in the first place?  Isn't that what an athiest believes...that there is/are no God/gods?  If so, why do you care what Christians think about you?  Just wondering.

Anyway, I think anything or anyone can be made into a god; whether you make THE God your god, or money, or another person you admire, or even a hobby.  Whatever you devote your life to is, in some sense, what you worship or your god.

In a way, a hobby or person you admire and actually have a relationhip with, could in fact get you through problems in this life.  I remember a time when a new pair of shoes got me through a rough time =]

If you deny the Christian God, than I suppose he won't be there to help you.  He isn't going to help people if they tell him "no thanks".  That's the gift of free will.  But why would that bother anyone?  If you don't want God, and therefore he doesn't help you, aren't you getting things the way you want?

Are you just wondering how Christians view Atheists?  You shouldn't care what another group views.  Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs.

A Christian's view of your first question, is this: as an atheist, you have chosen to make God void in your life.  (Although if you don't believe in him, that shouldn't bother you.)

As for your second question: I believe there is a God to help you and guide you......but only if you want him to.

If you are at all bothered by what Christians, or any other faith believes, perhaps that means you are not at peace with what you believe.  I am at such great peace with my faith, that I do not get angered, intimidated, or uncomfortable when other faiths or beliefs systems poke fun at/try to get a rise out of me, ask me questions, tell me I believe in fairy tales, call me stupid, etc........ I get annoyed, but not shaken.  I hope you can, if you are not already, at peace with what you believe.  And just because I may believe that you are missing out by not believeing in God, doesn't mean I think you are crazy, or an idiot, or a bad person for doing so.  You are probably a great person!

    Hope this helps

  2. Yes, he is, ain't ya lucky? As is  Santa Claus there to bring you presents at Christmas time and the Easter Bunny to bring you candy at Easter and the Toothfairy to leave a quarter under your pillow when you lose a tooth.  Ain't magic grand?

  3. If you are an Atheist, you do not believe god exists.

It sounds to me like you are a believer who rejects god, i.e., you believe god exists, you just don't want anything to do with god.  It does not sound at all like you are an Atheist.

  4.    God is with us all. The deal is that we want the knowledge. What comes with that are good and bad things in life. I dont believe you are doomed for not believing. I would rather hope you just read the bible and have your own take on it. Dont go by someone elses word. You decide. Free will.

  5. Whether one believe in something or not does not mean it doesn't exist. We all have our own journey, but in the end it's the destination our hearts seek

  6. You being an atheist denies the existence of God. That's not to say He isn't there.

No, God will not act in your life unless you call on Him.

  7. no he wont!

Have a star for being an atheist!

    atheist = smart

  8. you have no choice, just because you think so doesn't make it true/false, right/wrong

  9. Peace be upon you

I humbly answer your question from a Muslim perspective in letting you know that your Lord and Creator is always with you and if you sincerely seek guidance, He will most definitely provide it for you

    Peace be upon you

  10. No, God will not guide you until you pray to receive Christ into your heart after you repent of your unbelief and all your sins which are many.  He is in the world.  If you were totally separated from God, you would be in h**l.

  11. Even in my most selfish moments, God is with me. I turn away from God routinely, yet I know that His Spirit is inside me, you, and all things/people.

Can  we fully experience God's love and peace when we decide not to make Him part of our lives? Of course not. Keep in mind that even the most dedicated believers choose to not make him part of their lives from time to time.

When you show compassion, act peacefully, and forgive others, you are doing God's will. God is very present when we act with love.

But how can God get you through your problems if you are not opening your heart fully to Him? God loves you whether you pray to Him or not, but to fully receive His gifts requires putting Him first before all other things.

Peace to you and your family.

  12. Is this a question from a Christian to a Christian?

  13. well let me brake it down. God is not going to make you serve Him. #2 God know your heart and mind, #3 God still love you,so do I, #4 you can only please God by faith. so God is not with you, but he still kno you exist, and.........as long as you have breath you have a chance to be saved.     Imma be real and straight up with you a atheist(converted) would agree with the whole bible before a hypocrite(a fake christian that doesnt believe the whole bible)

  14. God is always there for you if you seek him, but since you have chosen not accept him into your life he is limited to what he can do. I find you to be a hypocrite though...atheists believe there isn't a god. You just acknowledged that there is and wonder if he's "with you"?

"Nor would I recognize it as such?" Umm...you just did.

  15. God is with everyone... And He loves everyone!

  16. if you believe in God then you are not an atheist

  17. When I was an atheist, I now realize that God was always with me protecting me from my biggest enemy, me.

The Holy Spirit is waiting for just the right time to encounter your spirit. Don't grieve Him when He does. "Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says:

"Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts" -Hebrews 3:7
