Question for cockatiel experts !!?

my cockatiel has a light green color on the tips of her tongue and beak. i am worried. should i be concerned? what is it? all answers are appreciated! thank you!

  1. it could be her dye in the food or is the cage dirty? if it is it could be bird poo.


  2. u should take her to the vet i have never seen that and ive raised 8 cocketeils (kept 4 other familt kept 4)

  3. Take a look at the toys, are they colored and dyed green too? Sometimes birds mix their toys with their water and make green dye for themselves. I've seen my birds get it all over their feathers and everything! I often get those calcium colored perches too and my birds feet will be the same color when they're done. Also, if your bird is on a colored pellet or seed it could be doing it too.

  4. More than likely its the dye from the bird seed you are feeding her. I sometimes see that with mine. It will even change the color of the small feathers that are around her beak if you look closely.

  5. I agree, dye from the food or even one of her toys.
