Question for everyone who says "But Kyle has won more races than Junior", etc?

OK, so Kyle has won more races in 3 1/2 years than Junior did. Kyle won more races from his Rookie year to where he is now than Junior did in the same amount of time.

Can I ask how many of you take into account that during that time for Junior, his Dad - the MOST FAMOUS NASCAR RACER OF ALL TIME - was killed on the track behind him?

Do you take into account how that might have affected the man?

Has Kyle had anything like that to deal with in this 3 1/2 years? Maybe he has, I just haven't heard about it. I have heard about "parents" so I am thinking not. And I think really the only comparison - which I actually pointed out earlier today and did make a good comparison in defense of Kyle - could be Kurt, and as far as I know, Kurt is still driving around the track every weekend.

Does this not play a part in your minds? Do you think this doesn't matter??

  1. I think if anything it should have given him more determination to do good in his fathers memory, because it's what his dad would have wanted.

  2. you cant use that for an excuse. The very next week Steve Park won the race at rockingham and the week or 2 after that Harvick won at atlanta.  Yeah i know what you thinking that wasnt there dad but Park saik b4 Dale died that Dale was like a Dad to him, and think of the crew members that  were on the team that gave harvick the win.  You want more try this one.  Remember when the Hendrick plain went down on its way to Martinsville carrying Ricky Hendrick and others.  The Hendrick boys rallyed together and had a heck of a season and MR. HENDRICK did it with a son that just died.  And if jr. was in such crappy equipment then how was he always upfront when it came to the restrictor plate tracks, and how was it that truex won at dover and jr. was able to lead laps.  You jr. nation people need to learn to accepr that jr. is not as great as you think he is.

  3. if you are referring to an "edit" to one of my earlier answers in which i said almost exactly what you pose here, no, i did not take that into account.  but that wasn't part of the question that was asked, so why would i?  if i remember correctly, the "debate" involved had to do with the number of wins, not the circumstances surrounding someone's life, and what they've had to go through, or anything else.  sure, junior's had some tough times, as have many drivers. does his loss count more because of who his dad was, or is it enough that he lost his dad period?

i don't know, and don't purport to know.  believe it or not, if you read through most of my answers, i am usually one of junior's staunchest defenders, especially against unfounded attacks by "kyle busch bandwagoners" or trolls wandering through here.  but when someone wants to start throwing down statistics and playing numbers games, they better have their facts straight, as i believe you found out i did.

bottom line, there was no insensitivity intended toward junior at all in my response to someone else. i would hope that most of the regulars on here would know me better than that.

  4. Of course Sr.'s death on the track effected Jr. If it didn't the man wouldn't be human. And he has dealt with that loss extremely well! Both the Busch boys are so ego driven I can't stand them. It's not they win alot of races that makes me hate them, it's their cocky attitudes.

  5. "killed on the track behind him"? I thought that was the time Mikey won. But yes, if your father dies it will affect you personally. However it shouldn't affect your professional abilities if you're truly a pro. Which I think JR. is.                    My bad, I thought SR. was running 2nd.

  6. it may have affected Jr , but hes a racer and knows the danger of the sport that terrible tragedy should have given him motivation to win and carry on his dads name, but to compare the careers of these 2 guys isnt really fair Kyle is still alot younger than dale was when he got into cup and will probally have alot more years in the series so it wont really be a fair comparison

  7. His father passed on there is no need for such an insensitive question

  8. Well, I'm sure that image of the black No. 3 wrecking in the rear view mirror of Dale Jr. still haunts Jr. today. Maybe all those times Jr. had been in position to win he thought of his dad and how happy he'd be if he won and then...all of a sudden here comes an 18 Pedigree Toyota, wait a minute, what's he doing...what the? Am I still leading the race? And then here's Tony Eury Jr.

"No, number 18 just ran into you. Sorry Dale."

Jr: "Yeah, sorry Dale. Dale Sr."

HE didn't say that, but HE was thinking it in the back of his mind.

  9. I think you are making excuses for Junior not doing well now. You dont know if Busch has gone through anything as traumatizing as that but Senior dieing happened like 8 years ago you think that he could be coming back by now?!?!?!? You are making excuses for him and for Junior nation and I hate to say it but you need to get over it, Junior has gone on from the traumatic experience I think Junior nation needs to also.

Plain and simple Kyle Busch is better all the way around!

**and i know this isnt going to be a popular answer to all the Junior Nation fans out there.

  10. You are exactly right. That's why I said Kyle is just now in the learning stages, and Dale has been down the long, hard, lonely road. Kyle is still "green", or as some people might say "wet behind the ears. Dale has become jaded through experience, and the toughest of all experienced forced upon him. It's all just fun and games for Kyle. For Junior it's pain. That's why he is the way he is in his interviews. And I know from experience, the longer your in racing, the more you see. And you will see people get injured, lose focus because of personal issues, and even death. But the pain Dale had to endure compounded by his fathers business, not being there for him, puts him way ahead of his time. That is also why younger drivers "seem" so good. They don't care, because they don't know. Again I speak from experience. But this is what motorsports are all about. Kyle Busch may be the star of the show, but that doesn't nessisarily make you the most popular, and there's nothing wrong, or out of the usual in these occurances. I hope some of the fans can understand this, because a lot of people seem to have hurt feelings over the fact that Junior is most popular while Kyle is winning more races. Sometimes legacy factors in and it's not what you know, but who you know. But don't worry, we all recognize Kyle as a great driver that gets what he wants, and he will, and thats all that matters. But each one of these men will be recognized in their own way.

  11. You have a very interesting point here and I for one am glad you brought that up I would say every time Jr gets in the car to race he thinks of his dad and about what happened how could he  not? and yes I'd say that it effects him to some degree hopefully it pushes him to do his best for his dad's memory but this is just speculation and my opinion. and I'm not trying to take away the fact that Kyle can drive and has lot's of talent cause there is no denying that at all but I think you're right that Jr has alot more pressure and alot of other things on his mind every time he gets in the car that Kyle hasn't had to deal with (thank god for that, cause no one should have to deal with it but it's life unfortunately)!!

    Good interesting question!!

  12. Scrapping my entire first answer, do over!!

Kyle doesn't have more wins than Jr. did during the same amount of time,

Kyle's been in cup competition since 2005, and currently has 9 wins.

That same amount of time for Jr. from his rookie season in 2000-2003, he had 9 wins.

As far as what affects them, any answer would only be speculation.

That's what I meant to say..

  13. Ok JR sucxs!
