my girlfriend is/has recovered from a yeast infection, although she says that there is NOT any pain in or around the vaginal opening she still complains of periodic pain around her left labia majoris. I've have done some research and cant come up with anything myself for the cause or causes of these symptoms. Could it be stress related or could the yeast have spread to the cervix causing an infection there? Is it possible that she could have some form of cyst or swelling causing this. Her yeast infection started around July 4 or 5 and has been ongoing since. We have had oral s*x but not intercourse. We are both still virgins (yes im 100 percent sure that she is a virgin), this is a really trying experience for her because both myself and her sister have left for college and she is still in highschool. Im 18 she is 16 if age would play into this at all. hopefully this doesn't affect her having children b/c i wouldn't be able to tolerate myself if i in some way had caused this to happen to her.

sry for making you read this long question but im horribly concerned for her well being

thank you for your time

  1. There are other vaginal diseases besides yeast infections.  You asked how yeast infections spread.  Well they can go pretty much anywhere, even down the legs.  She needs to see her doctor.  She may need oral antibiotics, or a second dose of the medication she had before.  Also ask the ob/gyn if she has vaginitis.  Take care and good looking out for you g/f.  Oh and it doesn't sound like that she has any problems that would effect motherhood.
