  1. I am not a fighter pilot and will not linger too much on answering.

However, the forces that you wish to experience require peak physical condition and medical clearance that would prohibit casual access to apparatus capable of subjecting them.

Fairground "thrill" rides no doubt have to comply with strict criteria with respect to limiting such forces to negate causing physical harm to the public.

I have seen jet fighter flights offered to the paying public for such an experience that you seek, and I suspect that medical checks and disclaimers are mandatory before embarking on the flight of a 'lifetime".

So if your really serious, that's the way to go, but It'll cost you.

I understand that Formula 1 racing drivers endure similar magnitude of forces during cornering, braking and acceleration.

    Possible alternative???

  2. I'm not a military pilot, but I don't believe there are any centrifuges available to civilians in the US.  If I'm wrong, I'm sure somebody will correct me.  If you don't mind traveling to Russia, you can go in their 10g centrifuge for $8000.  See http://72.29.31.40/index.cfm?fuseaction=...

What would probably be more thrilling (yet not quite that many G's) is something like this: http://www.aircombatusa.com These guys come to my home airport a few times a year.  I don't have that kind of cash to dish out ($1000-2000), but people say great things about the experience.

You may be the first person that I've heard who said that they would love to experience +/- 7 G's... +7 maybe, but I promise that you would probably just wish to be dead if you had to experience -7!

  3. I dont know but I wont ever forget my first multi G flight.

Bombing runs, straight up to 35,000, down to 100 off the deck and straight back up. wow!

  4. It's called a centrifuge.

    Check out the link below.

The easiest place to feel G's is

    of course a roller coaster.

There are folks that will 'give' airplane rides.

The T-34 The Steve mentioned is a nice ride.

If you can find someone with a PT-17 Stearman

that's a great ride too. Open cockpit - good aerobatics.

A guy at the local airport had one and for about

    a $100.00 I got a short ride and a couple of

    aileron rolls! Fun.

One airshow featuring an old Mig-15 UTI two-seater

was selling rides for about $500.00 for 20 minutes.

And fuel was cheaper back then.....

  5. No centrifuge rides for "civilians" that I am aware of. Your best bet is to go with the Air Combat guys (various companies) that simulate dogfights using small, prop-driven planes. You can get up to about +4g in these.

We operate a team of L-39 jets, and offer rides to our volunteer helpers. We canpull up to +7g in these aircraft. We can't sell rides (against FAA rules), and it's a bit expensive, so you'd better be convincing.

By the way...+7 g is painful, even for an experienced fighter pilot, and -7 is impossible. The best you could hope for would be about -2g. That's usually enough to rupture blood vessles in your eyeballs. Most jet fighters can take up to about -4g before failure...but that's beyond most pilots' capability.

  6. If there is a place that will take you up in an aircraft and perform aerobatics. sometimes they offer rides at air shows not sure about aerobatics.  I got to 4g's  doing loops in a T-34 mentor. The instruments start to get blurry I can't imagine 7g's.  I imagine  tunnel vision or black out. also you need to wear a g suit to help hold your organs in place. The quick change from +g's to -g's is gut wrenching blahh bring your barf bag.

  7. john -

You would love to feel +_7G? That's like saying "I've never jumped off a cliff. I'd love to try it to see how it feels!" It is not pleasant and it is not exciting. The best way I can describe it is work. I have never pulled -7G and would not want to. I have pulled a little over +6G and, while the flying was interesting, the Gs were not.
