Have you had problems finding part time or holiday/temporary work whilst studying in the UK? I'm doing a research paper on the barriers facing international students and would very much like to hear from you if you have had any bad experiences. Many thanks in advance.

  1. The only difficulty I had trying to find a job was getting a National Insurance number (same as an American SSN).  It was a pain trying to fit in an interview and then during the interview it was just sitting there while someone filled out paperwork that I could have done in 5 minutes on my own and sent in supporting documents. I could see how the process would be good for someone who wasn't fluent in English as it would make sure the paperwork was done correctly, but for a native English speaker, it was a waste of an hour.
