  1. open office is always a good way to go, it is free and has almost as many functions (if not more) than MS word, http://porting.openoffice.org/mac/ there's also a portable version whick fits on a memory stick or any other removable storage

  2. use open office

    free

    it mimics word

  3. Download open office.

Mac has already installed a "textedit" application, but this is not good to use for a book report. If you need a quick fix though, go ahead and search for it in the applications folder.

But http://download.openoffice.org/3.0beta/i... is the easiest and it's free.

    It's almost like microsoft office.

Btw, I was guessing at the version you wanted, so if the link doesn't take you to the exact right version of the application, look at luke C's response.

Anyway, once you get to the version you want (from my link, it'll look like this:  MacOSXIntel Aqua                   157 MB.)

Then, select the open with discimagemounter option and the steps should be pretty clear after that. (There will be something to do with dragging the image to the applications folder. And a few other steps.) After that, open the application, and start working.

Be sure to look for updates to this application as it's only a prototype type thing.

  4. Try using Pages.

If you can't find it click the spyglass in the top right corner and type the word pages in.  The first application should be it.  Double click the application and open a document as you would in any other document program.

  5. you could always buy Office for Mac

  6. http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads.m...

    download it and install

    it's as easy as that
