Some women and some horses are in a stable. In all, there are 22 heads and 72 legs. How many women and how many horses are in the stable. Show or explain how u get ur answer.

h=horses

2w+4h=72 (each woman has 2 legs and each horse has 4)

w+h=22  solve for w... w=22-h, now just substitute this into the first eq

2(22-h) + 4h=72

44-2h + 4h = 72

44 + 2h = 72

2h = 28

h=14, so w=8
