Question for muslims? ?

I don't mean disrespect with this question, but I would like to know why most of the muslims believe that you get virgins when you go to heaven? I know that during fasting I have heard that you are supposed to refrain form earthly pleasures, so what makes you believe that once you leave this earthly state that heaven would be a place of earthly pleasure. When you die the flesh dies, and why would God or Allah, want you to have the same in heaven as in earth? Please Explain? It is another state of being after you die.

Thanks!

  1. I really wonder where you access all these information about Muslims! Hollywood!?

    These are all wrong info!

    and you are welcome :)

  2. The 72 virgin thing is a myth.As a previously mentioned poster stated houris are of both gender and not primarily for sexual relations. They are beautiful non human serving companions.

Our paradise is described as being a garden, with palaces and pavilions and with wine that is not an intoxicant and every food you desire.Everything and everyone is in the prime of life beautiful and full of peace. There is no filth,or blood or unhappiness. The seventh heavan is under the throne of God himself. Is God nonphysical? Is the soul? Whatever the state of being after this one,we assume there are some physical attributes attached to it.

  3. There are no 72 virgins...It’s not in the Qur'an.

    Here's the word:

h**r or Houri: modest, intelligent companions, male or female; Ahwar:male and Hawra:female

The kind of people you would expect to find in heaven.

The rest of what you asked kinda goes with this.

Heaven and h**l could also be named Success and Failure...so, yes another state of being.

If I had to sum up the descriptions in a word for each, heaven is rest and satisfaction...there's nothing carnal attached to this.

h**l is regret and pain. Hope that answers it.

    Edit: Ur Welcome.

At the time of your death you will see the Angel Izrael . He will come to take your soul, how it does this depends on your character and deeds of your life. If you were good, he provides with wine, if you were bad, he will appear ugly and scary.

After this, your soul will be released from your body. This process once again depends on your deed. If you were bad, it will last long and pain like no pain. If you were good then the pain will be less. The Quran states "Everyone must taste death". It is said that when the Prophet  was dying, he was in such pain that his fingers and cringed on the carpet so hard that people could barely pull the carpet out of his hands. A man of such virtue will feel such pain.

Once the soul has left the soul, you will be there, looking at your own body. You will see the people mourning, you will run to them asking them to help you, but no one can hear a thing. You are all alone.

When you are put into the grave, you will follow your body in there. It is said that you have an option to go or not, but everyone goes in because they cannot stand to be seperated from their body.

The Qur'an describes the physical characteristics of Paradise in great detail.

Eternal hellfire and eternal Paradise: On the Day of Judgment, the evil ones will go to the hellfire. Some of the evil ones will be in the hellfire eternally and others might eventually come out of the hellfire after their sins have been purged. The good ones will be taken to Paradise to eternal enjoyment and fulfillment. In Paradise, there are bounties and blessings beyond our imagination and thought. As mentioned in the Quran, the greatest bliss is God’s pleasure.

    PARADISE

The Islamic texts describes life for its immortal inhabitants, one that is happy — without hurt, sorrow, fear or shame — where every wish is fulfilled. Traditions relate that inhabitants will be of the same age (33 years), and of the same stature. Their life is one of bliss including: wearing costly robes, bracelets, perfumes; partaking in exquisite banquets, served in priceless vessels by immortal youths; reclining on couches inlaid with gold or precious stones. Other foods mentioned include meats, scented wine and clear drinks bringing neither drunkenness nor rousing quarrelling. Inhabitants will rejoice in the company of their parents, spouses, and children (provided they were admitted to paradise) — conversing and recalling the past. Texts also relate "pure consorts" (houris), created in perfection, with whom carnal joys are shared — "a hundred times greater than earthly pleasure".

    hope this helps mate :)

  5. Allah Almighty says, [Say: In the bounty of Allah and in His mercy, therein let them rejoice. It is better than what they hoard] (Yunus 10:58). This verse indicates that the divine rewards that Almighty Allah confers on His worshipers are better than this world and its temporary pleasures. All pleasures and luxuries of this world are nothing in comparison to the rewards of the Hereafter

It might be sufficient to know that every pleasure in that Heaven is unparalleled to that in the worldly life. It is as the prophet of Islam, Muhammad (pbuh), described to enclose:

"What no eye has ever seen and no ear has never heard and no human heart has ever perceived." (Narrated in the book of compiled hadiths by Imam Muslim.)

Paradise is where all our wishes and dreams are materialized; Allah says: “They will have (in Paradise) all that their souls could desire, all the eyes could delight in. And you remain perpetually therein.” (Az-Zukhruf: 71)

“No soul knows what is kept hidden for them of delights of the eyes, as a reward for what they used to do.” (As-Sajda: 17)

Its food, houses, rivers, pleasures… everything is beyond imagination! And because the believer is always attached to the spiritual more than the sensual, even in Heaven, God has made the ultimate ecstasy for the believers there, is to look at His Holy Countenance. Such is a blessing, from which believers never get bored or even get accustomed to, despite familiarity.

Because this term – Heavens - refers to the place and condition of utmost happiness, it was borrowed or say, "hijacked", by those whose philosophy of life is a mere hedonistic one. I think that their choice of this word in particular is evidence, in itself, of their awareness of the model image of happiness and bliss.

But the gap is quite wide, between the model image and this worldly application of pleasure, which is definitely associated with a pain or discomfort of some kind, or at least with the sense of temporality or boredom. For this reason, those hedonists rely on a "carp diem" style of life. This is a Latin expression, which means: "live day by day". This would mean that you must exhaust your pleasure every day for fear that there may not be a second opportunity tomorrow!
