  1. well my oldest is only 3. so i dont have to think of that yet. but its part of nature, its perfectly normal. and a little embarassing. you you and your kids, dont let them know you know. it might make them feel guilty. and they shouldnt.

  2. Masturbating is totally normal, healthy, and natural.  Do not let on that you 'know'.

  3. It's natural, I do not get upset but I have told them it is a private thing to do in their room or the bathroom.

  4. It can be pretty obvious that your kids are up to something, and when they are at that age we parents can do one of two things:  allow them the privacy to go and do what most kids do, or confront them.

I think that the confrontational approach can have a detrimental affect.  It can cause embarrassment, resentment, and in some cases a rebelliousness that will undermine the entire fabric of the family.  Since this is a natural process, if the parent is not comfortable with the child exploring their own sexuality, it can be brought up in a conversational and non-confrontational manner at a later time.  But mad... no, there was nothing to be good to come about be getting mad.

  5. well my son is only 16 months but he does try to play around wit it but i slap his hand but as he get's older i wont be mad cause he is going to grow into a man and it's gonna be natural but his father said he started at 12 and his mom caught him once...but she never said anything about it....

  6. haha this question cracks me up cuz one day my mom when i was 16-17 out of the blue ask me this and i was like eww no yuck. i was discusted at the fact that she even asked. sorry i was young naive and barely knew what that was and now im a i dont think i would ever ask my daughter this.

  7. well my daughter is only 3 but I noticed my brother was going through a lot of tissues I thought he was sick but one day I found his mess on the floor when I was cleaning his room ( he lives with me during the summer) and knew what happended to the tissues LOL I wasn't mad I'd rather him do that then have s*x and possible get a girl pregnant

  8. How can a parent be angry at a growing child who is doing what all people, including you, including me, have been doing since the opposable thumb was developed.  As long as it doesn't become an obsession, leave it alone.

  9. I know which of my kids so, but I don't make a big deal of it. I'd rather them do that then go and have s*x.

    *~AMBER~*

  10. I try not to think about it, although I do realize it is normal and would NEVER do anything to make any of them feel ashamed of themselves for it.  I really don't want to know when they are doing it, it's none of my business.

  11. Sometimes I knew, but I didn't get upset.  It's part of life.

  12. very normal i always see my son doing it......but i always tell him to stop doing it cz he might get infected cz of his dirty hand...lol

  13. I  never think about it. It's a personal and private thing and a natural part of growing up.

  14. it is normal. it is part of sexual experimentation. kids get freaked out when they realise that their parents are sexual beings that m********e and have s*x also you know!  seriously, its normal and thee is nothing you can do to stop it, exept chop hands off and thats abit extreme.

  15. Well I raised two boys.  One I walked in on and just stepped back out of the room.  The other .... I noticed my bottles of body lotion were disappearing.....I kindly asked him to return the bottles to their proper location when he was done.  Then I started hiding my expensive lotion and buying the cheap stuff for him.  I wasnt angry or anything - its a natural thing for male and female.

  16. Its a perfectly natural thing, everybody does it. Dont get mad at your children. And if you do know dont let them find out you know. And dont make them feel ashamed of doing it.

  17. Young kids are very obvious about it.  they will do it in the bath and while watching t.v.  It is because is feels good, and not sexual at this time.  If you talk to them about it and tell them to do in the own room and their own space and leave it at that.

It is a fact of life and it opens up opportunity for a s*x talk and satisfying ones needs instead of engaging in non-marital intercourse in an older child.

    Nothing to get mad about!

Take the opportunity to talk to your child about it!

  18. I have no idea if my girls are masturbating or not.  However, I have talked with them and explained to them that it is natural and a lot of people do it.  You have to be honest and open with your kids so they know the FACTS of life and not the hints.  I would not be upset if I knew they were doing it though.  I just want them to be able to come to me for anything they may need instead of running to a Peer that may misinform them.

  19. No I never knew they were doing it. I would not have gotten mad though. It natural.
