I turned 26 yesterday. Four years from now I'm going to be 30 (which I know is still young). Back in the day, my mother used to frequently make a comment about how she was never going to be older than 25. This was back in the 1980s. My mom was actually much older when she used to say that. I know that people nowadays say that 30 is the new 20. I also know we get older each second of the day. I was fine when I was 25 but now I'm like okayyyy. I feel like I'm beginning to get old (especially when I think about where I am in life and where I want to be). Also, a cosmetologist scolded me for using what she called "teenage" products (clearasil) on my skin. Like my skin was older or something, lol. Anyway on a serious note, did 25 feel like the turning point for you??? Please share. Thanks.

  1. 17, for me. After HS it was like fast-forward. I feel old and lost sometimes, not having accomplished what I'd hoped to in the years that passed.

  2. I didn't start feeling old until about 30, I'm 38 now. But, I was also carded until I was 32 so I think I looked younger at that time. Now I feel old, REAL OLD a lot of the time. Mostly when I see girls that are 18 and think...THAT COULD BE MY CHILD!" Geeezz!

...but mentally I feel about 6 yrs old. LOL

  3. I started feeling older after my 19th birthday.  But...once you feel it, it never goes away.  Every year, you will think about it a little bit more...

  4. I know what you mean. I'll be 26 this november and this kind of brings me down a little. I've been married for almost a year and my husband is 33 so it's him who's complaining the most about getting old and bald, but I'm feeling that I've sort of wasted couple of years by doing really nothing with my career, and I'm definitely not at the point of my life where I thought I would be about 5 years ago (career wise). I also thought I would want to have my first kid before 30 and now I don't feel the same way, like I still want time for myself, don't want to settle down in that 'family' kind of sense. Everybody says I look younger than I really am, but yes, birthdays ain't fun anymore.

  5. Thirty seems to be the real turning point. If you find being twenty-six troubling, then best you start now bracing yourself for the thirty let down.

It's quite a fall............ prepare thyself.

  6. I've been feeling old since I turned 23
