Question:

Question for pro McCanns, why do support them?

Is it because you have left your children alone and are just thankful it didn't happen to you, guilt almost or do you still think it's ok to leave those babies alone in that room? Or is it just that you like to see the best in every situation (rose tinted glasses)?

  1. I don't know, man, it's a mistery to me.

What I find...ludricous...is that NOW almost all the pros are saying that they never said they weren't negligent.

Go and check the older answers and they were SCORES of them saying that the McCanns parenting skills were normal.

    That has to mean something.

McCannism is a religion. With dogmas.

Check Emily's Answer : The kids were sleeping safely in bed.

Right...They were so so safe that one disappeared.

This is nothing short of religious passion...

About the innocent until proven guilty... you people should read the law.

A person is innocent until his guilt is established.

That can happen by a trial by a court of law or by a voluntary confession.

The McCanns confessed to actions which are, under the portuguese penal code, on its article 138, number 2, a crime.

They are, therefore, proven guilty by their own admission of guilt.

If John kills Charles and shows up at the police station and confesses to those events, would you refer to him as innocent?!?!?

    Let's try with different characters...

Let's imagine Karen's step dad saying:

"Yeah, I was playing doctors with Karen sometimes. But I find it to be normal parenting! All our friends do it"

Would you refer to him as "innocent until proven guilty"!!?!?!?!

    Still any doubts left?!?!?

  2. I totally agree with Faith & dogs3.

  3. I lost a bet.jk

  4. Firstly, never have any of the regular pro-McCanns ever supported the McCanns in leaving their babies unattended. That was a terrible terrible decision and nobody knows it better than them today.

Heres why i defend the McCanns against the insane accusations that they murdered their Madeleine :

    1. 'cos theres no proof they did.

    2. 'cos of the way they strive to spread awareness of their Madeleine with no regard to the flak & scrutiny hurled against them.

    3. 'cos till now there is no little body found in spite of experts, sniffer dogs & the worldwide pressure on the PJ.

    4. 'cos there is no motive.

    5. 'cos there is no history or indication of past abuse, unstability or unhappiness in that family.

    6. 'cos IF they were, even if it were accidental, they would have cracked by now.

And no, never have i left my 5year old son unattended. My Mum, God bless her, looks after him while i'm at work.

  5. None of the above.  I'm not sure why you think people who do support the parents are in some way deficient.

Would you like to offer some more options?

Edit:  Oh?  Do re read your question.

    But ...

Their daughter was stolen from her bed, by someone with evil intentions.  Whether or not you agree with them leaving their children (the parents were not far away, the children were regularly checked, and they were sleeping safely in their beds) the point is that someone took Madeleine McCann.  And it is that person who is the evil one.

The parents thought their children were safe - they were wrong.  But that doesn't mean they killed their daughter.

And it also doesn't mean they deserve the vitriol, the gossip and speculation about their s*x lives, the way they look etc etc.

It's got nothing to do with me or my children, or the way I look after them.  But I can feel sorrow for them and for their daughter.

Amy:  Theyhave repeatedly been accused of killing their daughter.  Amongst many other things.  This particular question might not be aimed at that specific point, but actually that is why I am known as "pro-McCann" because I have refused to accuse them of murder and defended them on that point.  It is only recently (since the Express) that people have been more careful about what they say.

You can have your viewpoints, I have mine about the "neglect".   If the Mc Canns are guilty of "neglect", then so are many other people who do the same thing.  If there is any good to come out of this case, it is that people will no longer do something so utterly stupid.

It still does not mean that the McCanns are evil.  And yes, I feel compassion.

  6. Michael w was suspended simply for supporting the McCanns not by yahoo but but many here did not like his views. I thought this was a site where one could at least express an opinion. It seems that this is no so.

  7. No, it's that I believe we all make mistakes and that was theirs. I'm just sorry they had to pay for it in such a harsh lesson and such an innocent child.

  8. i agree with you, those parents should have put their children first. once you have kids, you have to give them highest priority to their health welfare and safety. i mean anything could have happened !!!

McCanns were irresponsible and neglectful and it was a costly lesson and the one who got the worse of it was poor little maddie.

i hope parents across Uk and the world see this and realise not to leave their kids alone.

  9. I agree with you. Had they not neglected their daughter (as well as 2 babies!) in the 1st place, then chances are she would still be with them!. I have plenty of compassion for the 1 person in all this who really deserves it. The 1 person who did nothing wrong at all - Maddie.

**Emily Hobhouse - Where on this page does it mention anywhere that anybody is accusing the parents of anything other than neglect? And as for the lame attempt at putting forward a reason why it is ok 'the parents were not far away, the children were regularly checked, and they were sleeping safely in their beds.' Right so under these circumstances it IS ok to leave very young children alone then is it?

It does NOT matter how long you leave ANY child alone, nor that they are sleeping IT IS NEGLECT for them to be left alone for ANY reason. They were not that close by were they? They could NOT see NOR hear their children . Because of these so called parents selfish behavior, their little girl has gone through god knows what! They knowingly and willingly left their children open to all kind of dangers, night after night, and you want us to have compassion for them!!!!

  10. Most people including myself who you call pro McCanns have never left a young child alone.  It is not up to me to judge people who have made a mistake.  Yes leaving the children led to their daughter being abducted but the true guilty party here is the abductor.

The McCanns have to live with the guilt and horror of what their daughter has probably been through every day and it wont help for me to put a knife in their back.

I think one word sums it up and it is lacking in today's society.  COMPASSION.
