Experiment. Learn any language (I recommend Python, but it doesn't matter) and just experiment. Play around with it, try different things. If you can't figure out how to do something, look it up, and you'll learn.

If you're interested in math, projecteuler.net has a collection of mathematical puzzles designed to be solved using computer programming, which are very interesting and useful as a learning device.
