Question:

Question for sand volleyball players. What do they use for lines to call out of bounds?

We have a sand volleyball court at our school, but no lines, and I want to put on a charity tournament. However, with no lines to call out of bounds, it makes it kind of tough. We really don't want to strike lines with spray paint, as they will get turned over in no time.

I recall at some places, that maybe it was an old fire hose draped around the court.

Does anyone have any good suggestions of what we could use? Maybe a dark colored rope?

*BONUS QUESTION*

The sand pit is also horribly mixed w/small rocks. We rake it, but it only helps a little. Does anyone know a good way of how we can clean it up so we can get those rocks out?

  1. Sand volleyball courts have ropes that are anchored only at the corners.  That way if they get buried in the sand, you just pick up the middle of the rope and it lands back on top!  ;)  Maybe you could try letting the younger kids play in it with their little sand sifters and see who can fill a bucket with rocks first???  Just a thought!
