Question for serious Transformer experts?

Okay, the movie last year is TOTALLY not my style. I'm usually into foreign films, independant films, etc. etc.

But somehow I've become obsessed with Transformers now.

Is there a website out there somewhere that has a listing of all the characters and some backstory? Cuz I know the movie only covered a core few.

I'm surprised (stunned!) the movie turned you on to Transformers, especially because I thought the movie s-u-c...well, you get the idea (Am I a bad person for wishing for Michael Bay's early demise?). I'm an old-school Transformers fan...raised on Generation One mythos. I got my first Transformer (Mirage) as a Christmas gift ages ago and it yet stands near my home workstation atop a little bookshelf.
