  1. I'd feel angry.

  2. I think many adoptions prior to the mid 70s were unethical and/or coerced in some way or another by society, family and maternity homes and agencies.

Other adoptions were black market... which would really bother me to find out.

  3. I would feel pretty darn pissed off - and even more like a commodity that was sold then I already do.

  4. I wouldnt care

  5. I did.  And I'm mad.

It's not my adoptive parents fault - they thought my Mom had given me up.  But she hadn't, she was told I was dead.

  6. Well I have recently found out that my adoption might well have been illegal and I would not dare write here the words that describe how I feel.Let me just say this and that is if the facts which I have been presented are true there are a lot more people out there who are completely uncaring about the members of their own family.I could never be like that. The truth needs to come out regardless of these people who like to hide things and the feelings of the adoptees and their natural parents need to be considered

  7. If I found out I would not only feel robbed of any dignity but  I would be severly angry at whoever did something so uncaring of my wellbeing as an infant. Someone who doesn't care enough to legally find a home for an innocent child has no heart.

  8. I would not stop till all parties are locked up. A criminal is a criminal....  I would not settle for less as I don't negotiate with criminals..

  9. Honestly, I don't know.

I have been thinking about this since I started to search.  I was born in the 60's, in Portland, a place pretty notorious for shady adoptions.  It is possible that I could find this out.

I'm a person who has always been extremely positive about the outcome of my life and I am, for the most part, pro-adoption.  If I were to find this out I completely do not know what my reaction would be.  I know it would have an effect on me, and I do know that I have to prepare myself for this possibility.

  10. I would be angry that it was allowed to occur.  It bothers me enough knowing that the agency lied to my ap's simply to play on their sympathies.

If I found at that my afamily knew of and/or participated in anything illegal or unethical in order to adopt, I would feel sick.   The thought of them participating in or turning a blind eye to such for their own benefit is truly that unpalatable to me.  Fortunately, I know the circumstances of my adoption from all sides, so I know that isn't the case.

So, do thumbs down mean that people advocate unethical or illegal adoption practices?  A thumbs down for Heather's response surely must mean that!
