Most studios require pink.  I wear a light pink (almost appears white).  This is often for the purpose of seeing your leg line better, being able to see the curves of your knee and where it is facing (are you turned out enough), etc.

I wear pink, but it's part of the uniform. But I like white or pink tights, they just look so elegant in them. The uniform is a lilac leotard where I dance, so those colours really suit.

I had to wear pink.  Some studios have dress codes and only allow certain color leo's and tights.  The most common is pink tights with a black leo.

As a male dancer I had to wear black tights.

Our dress code requires ballet pink with a black leotard.  Yawn... I actually own a pair of bright green tights I had for a performance once.  They have glitter all over them.  Those would be fun to wear to class.  I could just see my instructors' faces...

Usually pink, But some studios have different colors... It usually depends on what color your leotard is and/or your level, if your studio has levels.

pink for girls, black for guys.

and for girls, it's better to wear seamed mesh tights cuz it makes your muscles look better.

for guys it's better to wear the kind that's not shiny. and, i know it'll sound wierd, but you should kind of give yourself a wedgie with your tights, it makes your legs look longer.

and depending on the studio, the guys might need white socks. and some schools are more or less strict about the length, it depends.
