Question:

Question for those who wear progressives?

I just got some progressives with the cheapest lens because I will change them later. Anyway, when I look at a light source like the window or tv in the darkness, and move my head left and right, I see a glare coming out of the tv out of the "distortion" area. Is that normal? Are you supposed to see glares around lights if you try to use peripheral vision? Or is it because I got the crapiest lens they had and I need some anti glare coating or something?

  1. Normal.  It is an unavoidable trait of such lenses that they have regions where the astigmatism correction is way off.  Furthermore, the reading area of such lenses isn't large; for these reasons, I went to standard bifocals.
