do you know how barbiturates in high doses directly depress myocardial contractility ?

  1. This would be a good question for an anesthesiologist... So I asked a couple I know...

    Ganglion-type Nicotinic acetylcholine receptors are inhibited by barbiturates. The inhibition causes the myocardial depression.
