  1. I put myself through Nursing school waiting table.  I would never do anything to someones food.  But I have seen waiters eat off people plates before serving their food, drop rolls and put them in the basket.  I couldn't wait to finish school.  I very seldom eat out now.

  2. Absolutely not. That is horrible and solves nothing.  It won't change things or people.

I did read in the paper once though; and a friend confirmed that she had seen it too, that part of a condom was found in some clam chowder. Imagine that!

    What is wrong with people?

  3. I  have NEVER .Spit in anyones food because they sent it back. If your not happy with the food please let us know so it can be fixed. we alway want a happy Guest . As for being rude I"ve never spit in the food either. I've  called them a few ugly names to myself or to co - worker. Treat other the way you want to be treated.

  4. I am not in the industry, but I had a friend who was a sous-chef at a high scale steakhouse.  He told me once about a customer who came in 5 mins before closing and ordered a 3 course meal.  The head chef was so annoyed he threw the steak on the floor and stamped on it before cooking it.

I don't know if this story is really true, of course - but I could never bring myself to eat in that restaurant again.

  5. That is so nasty!  It is illegal as well !

No! I never did that; never thought of doing that. Put yourself in their place. You pay a lot of money to eat out. You want the food the way you ordered it. The customer is your boss while there. They give a tip for good service.

I was a waitress for years and I have also been a customer. Look at it from both points of view. The unhappiness is not with the waitress it is with someone not listening and communicating well enough to hear what the customer wants.

Yes, there are mean, grouchy people; that no matter what you do you can not make them happy. Don't take it personal; they are just unhappy people.

Don't bring yourself down to their level; they are trusting you. Would you want them to do it to you?

  6. When I was a teenager I worked as a cashier at an outdoor restaurant.  I saw the teenage boys in the kitchen blow their noses in a big metal bowl of caesar salad.  Then they tossed it and put it on the side of the plates for the customers.  So gross, I will never forget it.  To this day, I cannot bring myself to order caesar salad in any restaurant.

  7. Not a waiter but I have seen security videos from restaurants and you can see waiters and cooks spiting, cleaning their nose on the food, and putting other body fluids too gross to mention here; of course those people are fired but most of the time the videos where seen the next day so you already ate the stuff.

By the way that's very illegal (food tampering: a very serious crime) and also a reason for a civil sue.

Never, send food back. If you are not pleased just cancel your order, get up the table and go somewhere else.

You can complain about the service but make sure never to return to that place or you will end up eating spit or something else.

  8. No, never. I will not allow myself to stoop to their level. Just because they were mean and rude, doesn't mean I need to be. I just let it go and shrug it off.
