  1. The restaurant I work in is seat yourself and for some reason I find it harder to notice someone who is alone . I don't do it intentionally Personally I think you may get a better tip from one person because you don't have to try to make everyone happy just the one.The food just comes out in the order that it gets put in so I don't think you are intentionally being served last.

  2. Well, they shouldn't, but they probably do!

  3. i think your just thinking negatively about it ALL (probably WHY youre there alone!!)

  4. they dont i always make it extra special for them as they always look lonely.

  5. they dont mate. I Managed a Restaurant and lone diners were always looked after.

  6. Maybe it is just you?

  7. Because they're generally greedy, selfish and entitled people who do not think they have to work for money; not to mention the fact they generally treat the support workers (host bussers and runners) like dirt and seldom tip them out properly.

For that reason I am hesistant to give a tip better than 10% unless I feel they have done something special to deserve such a high rate of pay.

  8. Smaller bill means smaller tip.

  9. if your givin a tip i will answer ?

  10. I've not seen that happen with my customers. Normally when they come in even if it's just one person I will serve them as well as I can. Some times late service can be due to when the food ticket gets into the cooks. If a large table has ordered before the single person it might take much longer than it normally would to get the food out. This is not something your waiter or waitress has control over.

The only time when a customer will get second rate service from me is if I have had them before and been stiffed by them (or given a poor tip). In that case I know what I'm working for and I give the sort of service I think applies to the tip I expect. I don't want to waste my time with a table that won't tip well when the next table I have may tip nicely if I give them enough attention.

My rule of thumb (As a patron and as a waitress) is that if it's busy and I can tell that my server is trying their best to serve me well, then I will give a good 20 percent tip. If it's not so busy, they aren't checking up on a lot of tables and I still get crappy service, then they get a crappy tip.

However there are rare enough times (Even when dining alone) that this happens.

    I hope this helped.

  11. wat is "second rate" everything? you might wanna go in2 detail about that.

  12. Well most likely it's because they don't think they'll get a decent tip. 15% of one meal isn't much at all.
