Question for women about period?

Hi. I'm a teen girl and I just started my period about 6 months ago. The first 4 months my period was regular flow and lasted about 7 days. The next 2 months my period was regular to lightish and last 4 days and then I had a day off and then the next day I had it. Now, this month, I have had it for 5 days straight and it was regular in the beginning and then after the first 2 days it was really light. Today was the 5th day and it was still light, I didn't even know i was on it till I went to the bathroom and saw "it" on my pad. I'm going on a moterboat tomorrow for about 7 hours and I don't know if I'm going to be on my period. It normally starts bleeding around 11 and I'm going out on the boat at 10. I'm not going to wear a pad because we are going to go swimming and I know that pads leak and that can be embarassing. I asked my mom what I should do and she gave me her opinion but I want to get other opinions.

So, should I put on a light or regular tampon directly before i go out on the moterboat? should I try wearing a pad anyways? Or should I just not wear anything and hope I'm not on my period? What do you think?

  1. i would put on a light tampon just to be safe.

  2. i wouldn't worry at all about your period not being totally regular all the time. you're actually pretty lucky that it comes every month. i would wear a regular tampon just in case it is a heavy flow, and also, when you're in the water, it stops your flow because of the pressure.

if you don't have any tampons or anything, just put on a pad and wear a pair of shortrs, it should be fine. just check before you get out of the water.

    hope that helped :)

  3. use alight tampon, have extras handy and change them every 4 hours.

  4. You could use a light tampon or a regular tampon if your flow is heavy. Check tampon regularly and have a change of clothes too. You can wear pads when you are not swimming. If you don't want to go while on your period then you can wait until you feel up to it and feel that you won't start. But with your age your period is very unpredictable because your body is still making hormonal and physical changes as well as mental changes. I would wear a tampon only during the period though.

  5. use light tampon, it will help. don't leave it on over 4 hours.

  6. wear a light tampon and change it when your there

  7. i'd wear a tampon just in case also bring a pad and a spair tampon just in case you should be okay if your light in the water coz u dont have ure period when ure underwater for sum reason just becareful when u get out again and wear dark pants too

  8. HI...there a few things you can do......

    a) if you know how to use tampons already and your mother approves you using one then go ahead (just make sure you use the one that corresponds to the type of flow you regularly have)

    b) You can use the pad and roll up a small plastic bag in your purse to dispose of the pad later.

    c) simple carry a nice beach bag and be prepared with a change of clothes and what ever else yo think you might need

P.S. relax and don't stress yourself over it...enjoy your day

  9. Tampon, just to be on the safe side :)

I went to the beach and wore one, everything was as if i wasnt on my periods.

Just dont leave it in there for over 4 hours.

  10. I would use a tampon, better safe than sorry, Good Luck!!!

  11. Like the old saying goes: it's better to be safe than sorry. What I do when my period is very light, is I wear a panty shield, and if I'm going to go swimming, I then wear a tampon for light days. This way you're not wearing a bulky napkin, and can carry your tampon just in case. And who knows, you may be off your period competely tomorrow. But the first year of a girl's period is usually irregular to a degree, so what you are experiencing is normal.

  12. i think the best thing to do would to use a tampon so that you will be prepared if you do start.

  13. use a tampon. a pad will get bloated and nothing at all could be embarrassing if you get your period
