I received a personal e-mail for a person in the UK thru

the yahoo network and its reference to helping her with a

problem she has in giving money to charatible organiza-

tions as that is her last wish before she dies of terminal

sickness. When I asked her how she got my e.mail

address she stated through a private web. Is she legit and

she has contacted my twice saying she needed a honest

person to take care of this, and my question is can a per-

son overthe internet be trusted and since she got my

address randomly it it okay to converse with her. What is

your opinion. Pls advise.

  1. It's a scam.Don't fall for it.

  2. When she asks for your bank account number say you don't trust banks, you hide all your money in a sock under your dryer.  Tell her to just send you cash and you'll take care of it.  The Nigerians who needed my help getting money out of their country seemed to stop emailing after I told them that....

  3. I have received around five such emails...all from different people saying more or less the same thing.  These are scams pure and simple.  They start off by getting your sympathy and then before you know what has happened they have stolen your identity and could also have stolen any funds in your bank account.  These people find it easy to obtain email addresses through many different ways...maybe just from you clicking on a link and providing your details to someone else, who then sells your details on...wrong, yes, but sadly happening too often.  The best thing to do is to ignore any such emails, do not reply to them in anyway as by doing so you are confirming that your email is a "live" address and they will either keep on at you, or sell your details to someone else and you will be inundated with spam and even more such scam emails.

You can always type her contact details into Google search engine and see what happens!

  4. I get these all the time!! SCAMS! they even have done a story on 20/20 (a news sory, on tv) in regards to it. Don't even respond in any way or she will continue to write you.
