Ok I have watches and miscellaneous things on top of my dresser and things like telephone cords that are extras, just electronic items and other things, where should I store some of these items, some I use and others I do not.

  1. You need a place to drop things as you take them out of your pockets.  I picked up two thick wooden trays from the dollar store (think party cracker trays) for my hubby.  They actually looked more expensive than actual valet trays, but at a fraction of the cost.  He uses one for his change and one for all of his other pocket items.

As for the things you do not use, do you never use them? I would get rid of them completely.  Do you seldom use them?  I would put them away in a bottom drawer.  My husband uses a community docking station at work to charge many of his gadgets, but wanted to keep his own cords just in case.  We plugged them into a power strip that could be plugged in as needed, then attached the cords to the back of his dresser with clips meant to secure rope lighting.  If he needs one, it is within finger tip reach behind the dresser, but out of site and out of the way the rest of the time.  You could also use velcro or any number of other methods to secure them out of the way.

The guys at work all love the docking station, so if these ideas do not work, maybe you could use one of them. They are available almost anywhere you find electronics.

I hope this helps.  Good luck.

  2. The watches and the other things you use can be stored in a box in your dresser.

You can store the stuff you don't use with other storage (closet, basement, etc) or sell it.
