Ok, dumb question here, and I forgot also.

We are going on a cruise in two weeks to the Eastern Caribbean. This is not our first cruise, however, I can't remember if the islands except US dollars?

I believe they except debit cards but can't remember if they except cash.

San Juan, St. Thomas, St. Maarten Islands.

  1. They all accept US Dollars!  San Juan and St. Thomas are US possessions, St Maarten will also accept US currency.  Have a good trip!

  2. Well...

San Juan is in Puerto Rico which is part of the USA, so US$ are accepted.

St. Thomas is part of the U.S. Virgin Islands, so again US$ are accepted.

St. Maarten is the only island not in the USA, so this should be helpful:

On the Dutch side the currency is the Netherlands Antilles Guilder or Florin (ANG), where one guilder is divided into 100 cents, but US Dollars are also widely accepted and prices are usually quoted in Dollars as well as Guilders. On the French side of the island the Euro (EUR) is the local currency, although establishments will also accept US Dollars. There are numerous bureaux de change and banks throughout the island and ATMs in the main towns in both national sectors; travellers cheques and major credit cards are widely accepted.

    Have a great trip!

  3. I can't help you, but just wanted to say:

the word you're looking for is accept.  :)
