  1. I know with mine, the pole does come out easily...you find out the hard way when it's got a car up, the pole comes out and that little fulcrum shoots right back up with no room to get the pole back in (I had to use a pry bar and a lot of 'persuasion' to get it back down, and the pole back in).  It's not a big deal though, as long as you make sure not to pull it out when it's under a car.

  2. mine comes out easy, then in the end of it, it has a flat piece to tighten it up and loosen it.

  3. Yes, by turning counterclockwise the thumb s***w should release the jack handle. Here's what you can do to permanently fix the problem: Throw the old metric thumbscrew away and drill and tap the hole for the next size Allan head 5/16 or 3/8 cap s***w. Have someone who has a lathe machine a straight tip on the end of the cap-s***w a little less diameter than the groove in the jack handle. Simply use a jam nut on the outside threaded portion to set the depth of the new Allan head cap-s***w. Un-tighten the jam nut and back off the Allan head when you want to remove the handle.

I'm assuming you have a Chinese jack and all nuts and bolts are metric andextremelyy soft. What to h**l are you suppose to do these days when shopping for ahydraulicc floor jack anyway!
