I am 48 years old male and have Myopia of -1 and Hyperopia of +1 with 100 degrees of Astigmatism. My doctor told that with Lasik I can get corrected either Myopia or Hyperopia along with Astigmatism. Is this correct? Secondly the charges indicated are $2,800 for both eyes and post follow up (I live in New Jersey). Is this correct indication?

  1. I got laser vision surgery last summer and have not had any problems. It took me ages to get comfortable enough with the risks to get the surgery done though, now I am glad I did. I spent hours at the clinic inquiring about how the procedures work (Lasik vs PRK) and how it would affect me. My Indiana eye doctor was very helpful. Try visiting your local New Jersey laser vision center and make an appointment for a free consultation. http://www.locallaservisioncenters.com/N...

    Hope this helps

  2. If your prescription reads -1.00 +1.00 x 100, then yes, you could be potentially corrected.  However, whatever reading difficulties you have will still be present and you'll still require reading glasses.  That's a good price...make sure it's a reputable surgeon....ours run around $3800 for both eyes...
