whats a medium of a work of art mean? and how can u tell if a painting is anti classical or classical. and how can u tell what the iconography is? and the texture of the work?

  1. 1. the medium is the materials used to create the art work such as oil on canvas for a painting or marble for a statue

    2.Classical means that the work depicts elements of the classical greek and romans (usually architecture of figures from mythology)

    3.Iconography will depend on when the work was made and where the artist was from.  You should take some time to study iconography of art if you really want to answer this part.

    4.Texture is pretty self explanitory.  It the painting rough or smoooth?  Are there giant gobs of paint everywhere or is it one uniform surface.  In sculpture is it smooth marble of rough granite?  That's texture.
